Train station Bettembourg: Parc Merveilleux

You will find a multitude of attractions and fascinating animals, ensuring a day full of discoveries and fun.

A wonderful and magical world welcomes you

Parc Merveilleux is home to animals from five continents: America, Africa, Australia, Asia and Europe. Within the park, the visitor can discover 200 species of animals, a house dedicated to the fauna and flora of Madagascar (Mahajanga) and an Amazonian house (Amazonia), which shelters monkeys, penguins, crocodiles, snakes, a pair of sloths, an armadillo, as well as aquariums showing marine and freshwater fauna.

Outdoor areas throughout the park are home to exotic animals such as lemurs, the Iberian wolf, and native animals.

Young and old alike will discover a dozen little houses throughout the park with animated puppets telling traditional fairy tales (such as Snow White; Cinderella; Little Red Riding Hood etc.).

For more fun, discover the miniature train, the Ponies-Express, the electric car, miniature golf course and a carousel. Several play areas, an aquatic play area and the mini zoo ensure the enthusiasm of the little ones.

Throughout the year, the zoological school offers guided tours and educational workshops by reservation. It is possible to choose from several different themes.

Due to numerous requests from visitors, a new labyrinth has been built for the little ones. It is located in the forest next to the Raiffeisen playground and the petting zoo. A new small playground has also been set up near the Madagascar House area. The old aviaries at the entrance have been replaced with more modern ones, where you can now observe the lemurs.

A pair of Iberian wolves have been living at Parc Merveilleux since the beginning of the year.  Iberian wolves originate from the Iberian Peninsula (northern Spain/ northern Portugal). In the 1970s, there were only 50 pairs left due to poisoning and hunting. Today they are part of a European breeding conservation program.

There is a free retro bus to the Krakelshaff Park & Ride at weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and on public holidays. It runs every 20 minutes between 11:20 AM and 7:15 PM.
