Tram

With Luxembourg Tram, the train is never far off.

Since 10 December 2017, the tram has been harmonizing ecological, economic and lifestyle objectives in Luxembourg City and its surroundings by serving the main transport hubs.

Many advantages make the tram a smart choice for modern cities looking to improve their urban mobility while respecting the environment.

People with reduced mobility can use the tram easily. The access from the quay is at ground level and the even lowering of the floor facilitates driving inside. Ramps at the ends of stations provide access to the platforms. The tram is therefore easily accessible for older people, persons with reduced mobility and passengers with prams or luggage.

Currently, the 12 km long route connects the Kirchberg-Plateau with the National Stadium and serves 22 stations, including 8 transfer hubs:

  • Kirchberg, Luxexpo
  • Kirchberg, Rout Bréck-Pfaffenthal / Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg (CFL)
  • Stäreplaz, Etoile
  • Centre, Hamilius
  • Luxembourg, Gare Centrale
  • Bonnevoie Lycée Bouneweg
  • Howald, Gare
  • Gasperich, Stadion

The tram line offers a multimodal route, where the hubs of Central Station, Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg and Howald station facilitate connections between trains, buses and trams.

The next section to be put into operation in March 2025 will link Luxexpo with Findel Luxembourg-Airport.
