Five new train stops west of the Moselle

With the commissioning of the “Weststrecke”, customers will benefit from a new rail link between Luxembourg and the Trier region. From 3 March 2025, the west of Trier will be well connected to rail traffic from/to Luxembourg with five additional stops (Trier-West, Trier-Pallien, Trier-Zewen, Trier-Euren, Trier-Hafenstrasse).

The stops Trier-West and Trier-Pallien offer new attractive possibilities to easily reach the centre of Trier on foot or by bus from Trier-Pallien. Students also benefit from the proximity of the Trier-Pallien stop to the University of Trier.

Customers travelling from Luxembourg to Germany will continue to have two trains per hour, from Monday to Friday. With the commissioning of the western route, the running route of the regional train RB83 (Luxembourg - Wasserbillig - Trier-West - Wittlich) is now permanently moved to the western route of the Moselle, as originally planned by the SPNV-Nord.
